The scholarship covers tuition, accommodation, and comprehensive insurance in China and monthly stipend of 3000 RMB for Master and 3500 RMB for Ph.D.

Short-term Programs, Sophia University, Tokyo

Short-term Programs Sophia University offers January session and short-term summer study abroad programs. At Sophia University’s campus in the heart of Tokyo, the program participants directly experience many aspects of Japanese culture and society and witness the myriad ways in which the cultures of the world are reflected in the maze-like urban landscape of Tokyo.
The programs also enable participants to look at Japan from many different perspectives.

The faculty themselves come from diverse cultural backgrounds, and while some students from Sophia’s Faculty of Liberal Arts attend the session, the majority of participants come from a variety of different countries. The programs thus offer a rare opportunity for Japanese students and non-Japanese students from abroad to gather to study, discuss, and reflect on Japan’s role in the world.
As for the Summer Session in Japan Asian Studies, over 11,000 students from around the globe have attended the programs over the years, and many have gone on to pursue exciting careers related to Japan.

We would like to inform  that until 2017,a tuition waiver was only applicable to the Asian Studies program. However, from 2018, the tuition waiver will also be applicable to the Japanese Language program in both Session 1 and Session In addition, the number of participant for each course will be limited. It is possible that  students will not be able to register courses they wish to study as the places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Sophia University has several off-campus dormitories and offers affiliated housing options. For inquiries and application, contact the dormitory/organization directly. Since the Sophia campus is located in the heart of Tokyo, the cost of living near campus is very high. As reasonable housing is located in the suburbs, students should expect a 30-90 min. commuting time to campus.

Korea University International Winter Campus (KU IWC) 2017

The Korea University International Winter Campus (KU IWC) is a five week academic program which is divided into two separate sessions: Session 1 (3 weeks) and Session 2 (2 weeks). Each student can take either one or both sessions; he/she can take up to two courses for Session 1. Session 2 is a culture track (not-for-credit) which offers exclusive oneday seminars, global corporate visits, and various cultural excursions. More than 20 course offerings cover a wide range of subjects pertaining to international issues, with a particular emphasis on Business, Economics, Humanities, Science, Korean Studies and Korean Language. Along with the academic opportunities, the KU IWC provides chances to experience Korean culture outside of the classroom including one-day field trips such as a fun ski trip or K-pop experience.

Vancouver Summer Program 2018, University of British Columbia (UBC)

University of British Columbia (UBC) is pleased to invite your students to participate in the2018 UBC Vancouver Summer Program (VSP).UBC is a world-renowned institution consistently ranked among the top 40 research universities in the world. The VSP is a 4-week academic program offered by UBC for students from cooperating universities to study at Vancouver campus. This program provides the opportunity for students to take 2 academic courses in various UBC Faculties, while being exposed to Canadian practices and culture. English proficiency test scores are not required. However, students should be proficient in English and have a strong academic background. They should also meet their university’s system of application and eligibility requirements (if any) for studying abroad and possess the personal maturity to undertake an international experience. Academic credits for the courses may be granted by the students’ home university at its discretion. Students will join participants from other universities to study the same package.
