Open Positions for Master Students

Capital Normal University (CNU), located in downtown Beijing, is a flagship university sponsored by the Beijing Municipal Government and the Ministry of Education (MOE). CNU offers degrees of Literature, Science, Engineering, Management, Education, Foreign Language and Fine Arts.

CNU has a strong faculty in Geography and Geomatics offering outstanding academic education programs on undergraduate, master and PhD levels. Excellent education and academic research on 3D spatial acquisition, remote sensing, geographic information systems, land subsidence, water security has placed CNU on the top 10 list in the latest national discipline review of Geography.

The MOE offers five(5) full scholarships for master students in Geography and Geomatics in CNU. The scholarship covers accommodation, tuition and basic living costs. The scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit of applicants. Research topics include remote sensing, photogrammetry, geographic information systems, smart cities and regional planning, water resilience, ecohydrology, hydrology and informatics. After successful assessment of research proposals on the second year, a number of extra funds may be available. The positions start in September/October 2017 for 3 years. Candidates from the following countries* who holds or will receive a bachelor’s degree in relevant disciplines before enrollment are eligible to apply. Application Procedures:

Applicants should go to the website of China Scholarship Council http://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn, please read and submit the online application according to the requirements carefully,( CNU institution code:10028, it's very important). It’s very important to submit the application online.

The following documents should be uploaded when you submit your application:

1, Recommendation letters from two associate professors or scholars with higher academic titles. There is no specified format for the recommendation letters and all letters must be signed by the referee.

2, A notarized copy of your academic transcripts and Bachelor’s degree certificate and graduation certificate (in English or Chinese). The notarized certificate should be made by the government authorized notary office, the notarial certificate should be written in Chinese or English.

3, Study Proposal

4, Photocopy of applicant’s passport (this must be a valid, ordinary passport);

5, Physical Examination Form of Foreigners and Blood Test Report.
