International Summer School in Human Sciences, University of Jyväskyläare, Finland

Summer School of University of Jyväskyläare pleased to welcome  students to 15th international Summer School in Human Sciences offered on May 21 - June 15, 2018. The Summer School comprises of 21 interdisciplinary courses for students interested in e.g. cultural and communication studies, education, business & economics, sport and health sciences and social sciences.

Students are accepted to the Summer School in the framework of the bilateral cooperation agreements between the University of Jyväskylä and partner universities. Depending on the agreement signed between institutions and the number of courses the students take, 2-3 Summer School students would equal to one semester-long mobility.

The application deadline is 1 March 2018. You are welcome to apply for the full summer school programme or parts of it.  Each course lasts one week and they are 2-5 ECTS credits.

University of Greifswald - Programmes and Possibilities for 2018 (Summer School and International Students Festival),Germany

Greifswald Summer School takes place from the 6th August to the 14th October. Participants can choose to stay between two to eight week during that time and Greifswald Summer School offer both German language classes for any level and a broad cultural programme including excursions on the weekends. The motto this time is "Beyond Borders – Where are Your Limits?" Its goal is to connect students from all over the world and create a space for dialogue which overcomes differences in nationalities, origin and religion.

Hokkaido Summer Institute 2018 [Hokkaido University, JAPAN]

Hokkaido University (HU) was established in 1876 as Sapporo Agricultural College with a mission to produce graduates needed for the development of the frontier, Hokkaido island. During the institution’s long history of more than 140 years, HU has fostered the four basic philosophies of education and research: Frontier Spirit, Global P As a part of the future reform strategy towards the 150th anniversary of Hokkaido University (HU), the university launched the Hokkaido Summer Institute (HSI) in 2016, utilizing the climate advantage of summer in Hokkaido which is cooler than any other regions of Japan. HSI is a program that brings together leading researchers with proven educational and research track records from around the world, and provides courses in collaboration with HU faculty members. In 2018, more than 160 researchers from over 110 universities/research institutes from all over the world will gather at HU.
HSI allows participants to expand their knowledge of subjects in cutting-edge fields of research at HU that previously were open only to students of the university. Program participants have an opportunity to attend classes that employ attractive educational techniques, such as field training in Hokkaido’s extensive land resources and active learning activities, so they can develop into professionals capable of thriving on the world stage.
All instruction at HSI is in English. This provides international students with a stress-free learning environment without having to worry about language barriers, and also creates a special opportunity for Japanese students, who can audit classes taught by internationally acclaimed researchers. The university strongly hopes that HSI students will cultivate a better understanding of other cultures and improve their English-language proficiency and communication skills through exchanges with researchers and students from other countries. Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme (2018/2019)

Hungary provides high quality education in the heart of Europe. Today, there is a growing demand of international students to study in Hungary. Besides the quality of education and degrees recognised throughout Europe and beyond, students are attracted by the affordable living costs with an extremely favourable cost-to-value ratio, a safe and friendly living environment with convenient public transportation, the central location of the country in Europe and the unspoiled natural beauties combined with a 2000 year-old, rich Hungarian history and several UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Hungary is also within the top countries with the highest number of scientific Nobel Prize Winners per capita, and a numerous scientific inventions from Vitamin C to Rubik’s cube and so on.

Thousands of students from all around the world apply for higher educational studies in Hungary each year. The number of Stipendium Hungaricum applicants is continuously increasing as well as the number of available scholarship places. In the academic year 2018/2019 approximately 5000 students can begin their studies in Hungary in the framework of the Stipendium Hungaricum Programme.

The programme is based on bilateral educational cooperation agreements signed between the Ministries responsible for education in the sending countries/territories and Hungary or between higher education institutions. Currently more than 50 Sending Partners are engaged in the programme throughout 4 different continents. The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme was launched in 2013 by the Hungarian Government. The core mission of the programme is to increase the number of foreign students in Hungary and to encourage Hungarian higher education institutions to attract top foreign students.

The Programme is managed by Tempus Public Foundation.

Since the last round of applications, the number of Sending Partners has increased, therefore more and more students have the chance to apply for the scholarship to study in Hungary. At the time of writing, 60 Sending Partners are engaged in the programme throughout 5 different continents. With the number of Stipendium Hungaricum applicants, the number of available scholarship places is also increasing.

Pre-University Semester, Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, Portugal

The NOVA's Pre-University Semester is a multidisciplinary project created for international students who finished secondary school and are looking for an international university program. The project enables the most successful students to easily enroll to some of NOVA's university courses. 

The academic semester begins in February 2018 and enables the student to choose four different elective courses and attend classes both in English or Portuguese.

The student will live and study in Lisbon, a safe and cosmopolitan city, and at the same time improve his/her English skills. Living within the university context, the student will more easily make the right choice regarding his/her academic future (undergraduate or integrated master) at NOVA.

The costs – tuition fees and cost of living - are affordable when compared to other International institutions (European or non-European).

The program, that enables students to get ready for their university experience, is ideal for non-European students, since they can easily apply thanks to the special conditions ruled by the International Student Statute.

Programs of Beijing Institute of Technology, Scholarships

Beijing Institute of Technology is a top university in science and technology in China. BIT now offer a comprehensive course system in the areas of science and technology as well as management and humanities to degree-seeking students, exchange students and short-term program students across the globe. BIT also established a complete and powerful scholarship system to support foreign students to study in BIT.  In order to promote international partnership and promote programs, BIT’d like to provide the following scholarship to your students.

  1. For degree-seeking programs, BIT provides the CSC (China Scholarship Council) Scholarship for 5 master and PhD candidates from SPbU. This is a full scholarship for foreign students.
  2. For exchange programs, BIT offer the Exchange Scholarship to 5-10 exchange students at all levels from SPbU to study in BIT for one or two semesters for the academic year 2018-2019.
  1. For the 4-Week Short-term Program, they are designed for all levels international students who are interested in intensive Chinese language studies, science and engineering, and culture exchanges.

The BIT Exchange Scholarship covers the tuition fee and accommodation on campus. The scholarship will be offered to the students during their stay in Beijing Institute of Technology for the period of the exchange program.

Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) is offering two kinds of scholarship to Saint Petersburg State University.

  1. 5 CSC (China Scholarship Council) Scholarship for students from your prestigious university to pursue Master or PhD degree program at BIT.
  2. 5-10 BIT Exchange Scholarship for exchange students from your prestigious university to study in BIT for one or two semesters for the academic year 2018-2019.

The application for the CSC scholarship opens from December 1st, 2017 to April 15th, 2018.

This scholarship covers the tuition fee, the accommodation, the comprehensive medical insurance and the monthly living allowance (CNY 3,000 for masters and CNY 3,500 for PhDs). The international air fare is not covered.

The scholarship will be offered to the students during their stay at Beijing Institute of Technology for the period of the Master programs (2 years) and PhD programs (4 years).

Прием заявок на соискание стипендии на обучение в магистратуре Пекинского университета Yenching Academy в 2018/19 году

Программа YenchingAcademy является интенсивной (одногодичной) магистерской междисциплинарной программой, реализуемой в Университете Пекина и ориентированной на изучение культуры, истории и современного развития Китая.

Программой предусмотрено 6 профилей:

  1. Философия и религиоведение;
  2. История и археология;
  3. Литература и культура;
  4. Экономика и менеджмент;
  5. Право и социология;
  6. Международные отношения.

Программа предполагает совместное обучение иностранных граждан (65%) и граждан КНР (35%). Программа Yenching Academy реализуется на двух языках (английском и китайском).  Иностранные студенты смогут завершить программу полностью на английском языке. При этом посещение интенсивных курсов китайского языка является обязательным условием обучения по данной программе. Программа предусматривает также прохождение стажировки или выполнение прикладного научно-исследовательского проекта.

TU Berlin Summer University 2018

The TU Berlin Summer University is a high-quality academic summer program for international students interested in studying in Berlin, Germany.

This summer, TU Berlin Summer University is offering 20 courses in specialized disciplines such as Engineering, Satellite Design, 3D Printing and Climate Change. All teaching is in English and classes are held on the main campus of the Technische Universitat Berlin (TU Berlin).

The TU Berlin Summer University 2018 opens its doors on June 11th and ends on August 16th.

Ajinomoto Scholarship for ASEAN International Students-2019

Ajinomoto Scholarship  - this program enables students from six countries (Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam and Russia) wishing to enroll in a master’s course (at specified graduate schools in the sciences) at designated universities in Japan to secure scholarships before their arrival in Japan. It aims to cultivate individuals capable of leading Asia in the twenty-first century and to contribute to the development of Asia and the world as well as to mutual understanding between these countries and Japan.

Applicants who wish to enroll in a master’s course in one of the sciences (at specified graduate schools) at the University of Tokyo, Kyoto University, Nagoya University, Ochanomizu University, Waseda University and Kagawa Nutrition University (here in after “Universities”) and who fulfill the following requirements and qualifications. The applicant must be a citizen of Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam or Russia. The applicant must have graduated or be expected to graduate with an excellent academic record (with 16 years of education completed or expected to be completed) and must receive the recommendation of his/her university president or academic advisor or be otherwise qualified to enroll in the University. The applicant must be under the age of 35 on April 1, 2019.

In principle, the applicant must be able to obtain approval of acceptance as either a postgraduate international research student (hereinafter “Research Student”) or a graduate school student (master’s course) (hereinafter “Master’s Course Student”) from the University and be registered as a Research Student or a Master’s Course Student for April 2019 or October 2019.The applicant must acquire adequate Japanese language proficiency that is required in order to research and study in a master’s course, when enrolling as a Master’s Course Student. The applicant must file an application and attend selection procedures in the country eligible for this program. The applicant must be in good physical and mental health and have a strong motivation for learning. The applicant must not be receiving other scholarships.

Scholarships will be provided for max. 3 years: 1 year studying as a Research Student, and 2 years as a Master’s Course Student. The scholarship will be suspended when the scholarship recipient (who enters as a Research Student) fails to pass the entrance exam for a master’s course within a year after arriving in Japan.
