Virtual Summer School 2017 – Free Places in the Course Creative Cross Cultural Communication

DOBA Business School is organizing the 9th virtual summer school in June 2017. Cross cultural communication is becoming more and more important in today's business since the success sometimes depends on how good you understand other cultures and social groups. Cross-cultural understanding plays and important part in cross-cultural negotiation, multicultural conflict resolution, customer service, business and organizational communication.

This is the reason for organizing a free International week entitled “Creative Cross Cultural Communication” (15th June – 25th June 2017) offering interesting lectures and webinars. 

Course aims:

-   learn about the main characteristics of the archetypes of business cultures in the modern world;

-  master intercultural aspects in establishing new business contacts;

-  understand multiculturalism and the specifics of doing business in an intercultural context;

-  be able to cooperate in a multicultural work team in own company or on the level of   international business

Course structure:

 The free course is structured around online activities, individual and collaborative. Course activities are supported by a course tutor throughout the course. students and tutor will meet in the virtual learning environment Blackboard, where all resources, guidelines and forums are to be found. For technical issues online support will be provided. There are synchronous sessions (webinars) planed.

International Summer School in Russian Business

Saint Petersburg University invites students to the International Summer School in Russian Business that is conducted every year.


This educational programme allows to receive extensive knowledge on Russian economy/business (i.a. 6 ECTS). People, who attend this school also visit local enterprises, get to know real businessmen and enjoy extensive cultural program since St. Petersburg is very rich with places of interest (besides, this is the time of white nights).

Saint Petersburg Institute of Linguistics,Cognition and Culture

Saint Petersburg University invites participants to Saint Petersburg Institute of Linguistics,Cognition and Culture. It is an advanced study program organized every July at Saint Petersburg University in cooperation with Stony Brook University (New York).

Participants create a program design unique to their own interests, choosing 4 or 5 seminars from among the following fields:

Baden-Württemberg SCHOLARSHIP 2017/18

The objective of the Baden-Württemberg SCHOLARSHIP for Students is to promote the international exchange of highly qualified German and international students. Moreover, the program aims to encourage links between the universities in Baden-Württemberg and their international partners and to develop and strengthen these bonds on a reciprocal basis. Applications are possible for students at partner universities who wish to attend the University of Hohenheim for one or two semesters in the Academic Year 2017/18 within the framework of an exchange agreement

Scholarships for Exchange Studies in Hohenheim  duration: 3 - 10 months (the scholarship can be awarded for an additional month for the participation in the German intensive language course in September or March, respectively)  Allowance: 500 Euro/month minimum

Applicants’ course of studies: Agricultural Sciences, Biology, NutritionScience, Business and Economics, Communication Science

Application documents to be uploaded at the internet portal:

  • - Letter of application with information on studies and career to date   certification of matriculation, transcript of records
  • - Transcript of grades or certificate   foreign language knowledge necessary for the study period
  • - Letter of recommendation by a professor

Deadline for applications and nominations:   All nominations for summer semester 2018 should be submitted by April 30, 2017.  Application deadline for the winter semester (starting in September/October) 2017/18 is April 30, 2017, Applications for the summer semester 2018 (starting in March/April) must be submitted no later than November 30, 2017.  A list of nominated applicants should be reported to the Office of International Affairs (e-mail: aaa@uni-hohenheim.de) by the international officer.

All applications will be processed and reviewed by the University of Hohenheim. The final approval and announcements by the Baden-Württemberg Foundation are expected by July 2017. You will subsequently be informed of the outcome of your applications.

Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Sustainability Summer Program, National Taiwan University

National Taiwan University is pleased to introduce to you "Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Sustainability Summer Program”, a short-term study abroad option in 2017 summer.

This annual 4-week summer program is organized by College of Management, and is fully conducted in English. The goal is to help students exploring human value, formulating business strategy, and developing technology platform for innovation.

The Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Sustainability Summer Program is also a gateway for overseas students to explore Taiwan and establish network with locals. In addition to substantial in-class lectures, NTU will arrange off-campus tours and company visits to enhance  students’ experience in Taiwan.

NTU is located in the heart of Taipei, which is one of the safest capital cities worldwide. The metropolis offers a prosperous and visitor-friendly environment at a very modest price. Students will have no problem in exploring the city during leisure  time.

COURSES:

The courses are conducted in English.

  • - Innovation Management from an Asian Perspectiive. (3 Credits) This course focuses on recent trends in three key areas – exploring human value, formulating business strategy, and developing technology platforms for innovation. Learning is facilitated through lectures, case studies, group exercises, guest speeches, company visits, and a group project.

Discovering Taiwan through Musical Culture: Tradition and Innovation. (1 Credit) This one-credit module introduces students to important musical genres and their historical and social contexts in Taiwan, and shows how Taiwanese musical heritage can be transformed into contemporary creative production.
