  • guidance by experienced scientists,
  • and will be admitted to a top graduate Ph.D. program with courses offered by the Munich Graduate School of Economics.

Structured PhD Programmes

An alternative route to your doctorate is via the structured PhD programme, similar to those in English-speaking countries. This model offers regular and intense supervision by a team of advisors.  The programmes include a curriculum of courses, usually with an interdisciplinary focus. These programmes will advance your skills not only in academic and scientific methods such as presentation techniques but also foster soft skills. This systematic approach allows you to complete your doctoral studies within 3 – 4 years.

Scholarship. Hokkaido University Graduate School of Chemical Sciences and Engineering.

Chemistry is playing a major role in innovations of materials science addressing both academic and social issues that traverse and encompass the main fields of science and technology. To achieve the innovations that are demanded by the 21st century society in future materials, energy, medicine, welfare, and so on, education of talented young students in chemistry is paramount. The international educational program “Advanced Graduate School of Chemistry and Materials Science (AGS)” of the Graduate School of Chemical Sciences and Engineering, enrolls a limited number of elite students each year. The AGS program includes all major fields in chemistry and materials science, including recent advances in organic chemistry, physical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, organometallic chemistry, polymer chemistry, catalysis, materials chemistry, biochemistry, and chemical engineering.

The main mission is to produce talented top-class young scientists in the fields of chemistry and materials science. Hokkaido University Graduate School of Chemical Sciences and Engineering now recruiting elite students who have deep interests in chemistry and materials science. Selected students will be provided a scholarship from this program which covers the examination fee, entrance fee, tuitions fees and living costs.

5th International School-Conference on Catalysis for Young Scientists “Catalyst Design: From Molecular to Industrial Level”,Moscow, Russia

Institute of Organic Chemistry RAS pleasure to announce the 5th International School-Conference on Catalysis for Young Scientists “Catalyst Design: From Molecular to Industrial Level” which will be held at N.D. Zelinsky Institute of Organic Chemistry RAS (Moscow, Russia) on May 20-23, 2018. This event continues the established tradition since 2002.

The School-Conference is directed to young researchers, Ph.D. students and undergraduates involved in different fields of catalysis research. Catalysis is a fast developing multidisciplinary area facing the challenges of novel chemical technologies. This event will provide the students with approaches for acquiring a deep know-how and a strong background on the fundamentals of catalysis. The lectures of leading scientists will be focused on recent advances in the basics of preparation, characterization and modeling of new catalysts, catalytic systems and catalytic processes. Particular attention will be paid to the role of catalysis in fine organic synthesis, electrochemistry, and environmental protection - the research areas attracting much attention of modern scientific society. Participants will have a unique opportunity to discuss their own research with leading experts in various fields.

Scientific program

The scientific program of the School-Conference will include invited plenary lectures (30 min), oral presentations (15 min) and poster presentations.

The main topics are:

  • Catalysts preparation

  • Characterization and in situ studies of catalysts

  • Mechanism and kinetics of catalytic reactions

  • Catalysis for environmental protection

  • Catalysis for fine organic synthesis, natural gas and oil processing, petroleum chemistry

  • Catalysis for energy efficient processes, photocatalysis and electrocatalysis

English will be the official language of the School-Conference.
